Logan Circle

Welcome to Logan Circle, DC

A charming, historical community with an urban feel

Logan Circle is a quaint neighborhood in Washington, DC. It’s named after a traffic circle located within it, and while that may not be impressive, this community is. It has a strong urban vibe and an eclectic appeal. While it lies in a busy city, it aims to have its own character and charm separate from traditional Washington DC.

The community has numerous historic landmarks and two residential neighborhoods that are historic districts. Much of this region is sophisticated and upscale. The market matches that charm. Much of the Logan Circle real estate market is made up of historic homes – restored Victorians and colonials with impressive red brick and architecture. Yet, it’s also home to various apartments and some new construction in loft condos, especially in the 14th Street and P Street corridors.

What to Love

  • An eclectic and welcoming atmosphere
  • Historical architecture with refined style
  • Bustling energy in the heart of the nation’s capital

People and Lifestyle

Logan Circle is most noted for the traffic roundabout located in the city's southern end. There, a number of townhouses sit next to each other in a circular park. At the center of the park is a statue of John Logan, a Civil War general. From there, the community spreads outward, creating a blend of urban adventure and historically charming homes. Along 14th Street NW, residents will find a number of shops and restaurants that serve as the heart of the city. It's busy with an active nightlife but full of positive energy and refined amenities. Often, this is the place to be.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Logan Circle is close enough to numerous restaurants and shopping centers for residents to meet most of their needs. Nevertheless, there are a few exceptional locations in the neighborhood to visit. That includes Le Diplomate, a comfortable, beautiful French café serving a sophisticated menu and decadent desserts. The Barcelona Wine Bar on 14th Street is a tapas bar inspired by Spanish culture and cuisine. It has a menu of clean eating and seasonal ingredients. It also offers one of the best collections of wine.

Yet another fabulous place for a wonderful dinner, even on the weeknights, is Compass Rose. A lively bar, train car dining area, and Sunday brunch are all reasons to visit this location. Its food is fabulous and ever-changing. Logan Tavern is yet another fabulous place to stop in. It’s recognized as the destination to visit for pre-theater dining, as well as for its Sunday brunch. It’s a casual American eatery and a modern tavern.

Things to Do

Logan Circle is heavily residential without too many businesses located throughout it. There are parks and ample space, especially around the heart of the city. In addition, a few specific places are essential to visit. Fathom Gallery is one of them. This flex-use event space hosts various events throughout the year, including on its 1500 square foot rooftop garden. Another location to visit is Studio Theatre, a nonprofit theater production company noted for its numerous plays and productions over the years. And, for more music, visit the Black Cat, a music venue that attracts people from around the world looking for fun in an upbeat space. Numerous performances happen here throughout the year.
